Dear African Ladies,
Facial wipe is not the same as soap and water. I’m going to be very blunt here so I ask for forgiveness even before I start.
Listen to me, that stuff you carry all the time in your bag that you call ‘wipe’ is not effective at all. A lot of African Ladies complain about pimples, spots, reactions all on one face; they even go as far as seeing a dermatologist for examination but in the end they still result to facial wipes. It is so sad.
My mother tells me that any washing done without soap is not washing at all. And that is so true. Soap washes deep into the skin, removing every trace of oil and dirt. This is something Facial wipes would not do for you. Facial wipes contain chemicals, you may say they are not harmful to the skin but I put it to you that consistent use of it, would end up causing more harm than good to the skin.
When you get back home and you want to go to bed, if you feel too lazy to take a bath (which should not be), please at least wash your face with soap and water. If you must use wipes, do so and then use soap and water afterwards. This is because it is a long time between night and morning (about 8 hours). Now, eight hours is enough time for any reaction to take place, even in chemistry. Let’s take it that your face is the sample, the wipe contains a toxic chemical, the soap is basic and water of course is neutral. Imagine leaving a toxic material on your face for eight hours; I don’t even blame the pimples that decide to pay you a visit. Or you’ll say you are reacting to something, my sister why wouldn’t you react after eight hours of non-stop reaction. But if a neutral or basic substance is added to a sample, there is little or no reaction, just saying.
